Future of Craft (Food) by DesignSingapore Associates Network
This inaugural DesignSingapore Associates Network (DAN) exhibition explores the history behind the craft of local food and speculates about its future. In a culture as food-obsessed as Singapore’s, we examine the relevance of these traditional processes in contemporary cuisine, and how hawker fare is an indelible mark of our Singaporean identity.
Informed and inspired by design disciplines like architecture, graphic and participatory design, these prototypes are a conceptual investigation of our relationship with food – how we view and consume it, and its impact on us as a community.
Visitors are not only encouraged to stop and reflect on their personal connection with food, but are also invited to interact with the various displays to develop new food stories
