SHINE 透光 | A Travel Photo Exhibition by Ling Doh Kin

Singapore-based photographer and travel writer Ling Doh Kin will hold his first solo travel photo exhibition at Mulan Gallery Singapore from 12 to 26 May 2018.

Titled “Shine”, the photo exhibition features 30 photographs taken in less-explored areas of Cuba, Morocco, Tunisia, Ecuador, Iceland, China and Faroe Islands, depicting varying vignettes of local lives filled with captivating positive energy. From the image of children playing in Havana’s potholed street at dusk surrounded by decadent colonial architecture and vintage cars, to a montage of teenagers playing football at the edge of the Sahara desert, each photograph tells a story.

To emphasize the travel experience, some photographs will be paired with an eclectic range of design collectables from the photograph’s origin. To capture another sense, local artisan fragrance brand SIX will be imbuing the gallery with crisp winter scent, creating a multi-sensory travel photo exhibition.

Ling Doh Kin is a freelance travel writer, avid photographer, and the founder of Bigfoottraveller.com, Singapore’s first independent Chinese online travel magazine. His photography works have been featured in various print and online publications in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, as well as Conde Nast China and National Geographic’s (online) The Daily Dozen. In January 2018, he debuts his first travel book titled “On a journey with you”.
